Palmetto Island State Park

Located on the Vermilion River, this park has a boat launch to encourage boating and fishing. You can rent a canoe or bring your kayak to explore the interior lagoons for an up-close look at the native plant and animal life. Day-use visitors can bike the park and have access to a playground and the kids’ splashpad. Overnight guests can stay in a cabin nestled amount the trees or in one of the campsites for those who like to get a little closer to nature.
