Pleasant Valley Conservation Area expands 2,080 acres and is a mosaic of natural areas. It is also home to a variety animal species, including hawks, turtles, salamanders, fox, deer and numerous warblers. Pleasant valley offers visitors hiking trails, cross-country skiing trails, horse trails, picnic shelters, and a fishing pond. McHenry County Conservation District exists to preserve, restore and manage natural areas and open space for their intrinsic value and for the benefits to present and future generations.
