Warren Highlands Trail: Ridge Road to Van Nest Hoff Vannatta Farmstead

THE WARREN HIGHLANDS TRAIL is administered by Spruce Recreation Area and extends from Allamuchy State Park to Marble Hill Nature Preserve. THE RIDGE ROAD - VAN NEST HOFF VANNATTA SECTION of the Warren Highlands Trail begins with a traditional hike along a footpath through the forest down to the bottom of the mountain. The path is blazed with sky-blue paint on the trees. After crossing the second stream the path then follows the edge of two park-owned farm fields to the VNHV Farmstead. Please be mindful of the crops and "stay on the trail." The farm trail is neither paved nor mowed and it can be muddy. Fall - Spring are best seasons for hiking this section.
